Who we are

No Excuses is a nutrition, training, and coaching app operated by blndr agency. For any privacy question or request, contact daan@blndr.agency.

What we collect

  • Account: your email address (used to sign in).
  • Profile: name, sex, age, height, weight, activity level, and your goals and calorie/macro targets.
  • Your logs: the food you record, weigh-ins, workouts/training, and any meal or progress photos you add. Photos are stored with your account and are only used to power the features you use them in. A meal photo you send to be recognised is passed to our AI provider to read it, and is not kept in the chat history afterwards. Progress photos are never sent to an AI provider: they stay in your own timeline.
  • Optional check-ins: mood, energy, body symptoms, written notes, and (only if you choose to track it) menstrual-cycle information. We store this to power your own insights and patterns. It is not visible to anyone else unless you turn on sharing yourself, as described under “Sharing your check-ins” below.
  • Coaching: if you connect with a coach, and only while that link is active and you have consented, your coach can see your food, weight, and training.
  • Payments: handled by our payment processors (Paystack and Stripe). We do not receive or store your card numbers.
  • Technical: a device push token if you enable notifications, and basic technical logs needed to run and secure the service.

Sharing your check-ins

Your daily check-in is off-limits to your coach until you say otherwise. Nothing is shared until you go through the sharing notice and accept it; before that, a coach sees none of it.
  • With a human coach: once you accept, your coach can see your check-ins (mood, energy, body symptoms, notes) so they can spot patterns with you. You can shield any of those four categories individually, and a shielded category never leaves our database. You can switch the whole thing back off at any time in Profile → Coaching.
  • Cycle data is separate: menstrual-flow information is never included in that share. It has its own opt-in, off by default, that you have to turn on deliberately. We treat it as special-category health data and never bundle it with anything else.
  • With the in-app AI coach: when you ask it about your own cycle or check-ins, it can read your logged flow days, mood, energy and symptoms to answer you. It never reads your written notes. Separately, your recent check-in signals are only added to its background context if you turn that on, and your notes only if you additionally opt in to those.
  • Your personal patterns card is generated for you and is not sent to a coach.

Apple Health data

If you connect Apple Health on iOS (optional, off by default), we read and store the following from HealthKit to power your daily Recovery, Strain and Sleep scores and the energy balance: steps, active energy, workouts, heart rate, resting heart rate, heart-rate variability (HRV), respiratory rate, and sleep. Specifically:
  • Daily summaries of these metrics are stored on our servers (Supabase) alongside your account, and kept while your account is active.
  • Your scores and recent health summaries can be included as context when you talk to the in-app AI coach, so its advice reflects your recovery. Our AI providers process that content to answer the request and are not permitted to train on it.
  • Health data is never shared with other household members, never used for advertising, and never sold. It is not shared with a coach: coaches have no access to your Apple Health data or the scores derived from it.
  • You can disconnect Apple Health at any time in the iOS Health app (Sharing → Apps) and in the app’s Health settings; deleting your account (Profile → Account) removes the stored health data with it.

Calendar access (optional)

If you connect your device calendar (optional, off by default), the app reads your upcoming events so the in-app coach can plan training and meals around your day. Event titles and times for the next two days are sent along with your chat request as context only: they are processed in memory to generate the coach’s answer and are not stored on our servers, not used for anything else, and never shared. The app never creates or changes events. You can turn this off at any time in Profile → Calendar or in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Calendars.

How we use it

To provide the app (your energy-balance dashboard, meal and training plans, progress), to enable coaching you opt into, to process payments for coaching, to send notifications you turn on, and to keep the service secure. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

Only the service providers we need to run the app, each acting on our behalf:
  • Supabase: database and authentication.
  • Vercel: application hosting.
  • Paystack / Stripe: payment processing for coaching.
  • Anthropic (Claude): powers the in-app coach assistant, reads a meal photo or description you ask it to log, and writes the notification and weekly-summary copy you have turned on. Only the content needed for that request is sent, and our AI providers are not permitted to train on it.
  • fal.ai: generates the illustrative dish images in the app. It receives a dish name and nothing about you: no photos, no logs, no profile.
  • Your coach: as described above, with your consent, and your check-ins only if you have turned that on yourself.

Cooking together (households)

You can invite someone into a household with a code (Profile → Household) to plan and cook together. A household shares cooking data only: your dishes, your meal plan and day types, and the prep and shopping lists built from them. Nothing else is shared: your food log, weight, check-ins, journal, health data, progress photos, training and points stay yours alone, and other members of your household cannot see them. Joining is your choice (you enter the code yourself), and you can leave at any time under Profile → Household; your cooking data stays with you.

Security & storage

Your data is protected by row-level security so each account can only reach its own data, a household only the cooking data it shares, and a coach only a client’s data through an active, consented link. Access is over encrypted connections.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export, or delete your data, and withdraw a coach’s access at any time. Delete your account directly in the app (Profile → Account → Delete account), or email daan@blndr.agency and we will action it. These rights are provided under POPIA (South Africa) and the GDPR where it applies.

Retention

We keep your data while your account is active. When you ask us to delete your account, we remove your personal data, except where we must retain limited records (for example, payment records) to meet legal obligations.

Children

No Excuses is for adults: you must be 18 or older to use the app. We ask for your age when you set up your profile and will not create one for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18; if you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

We may update this policy; we’ll change the date above and, for material changes, let you know in the app.
